FIRST EDINBURGH GREEN DRINKS EVENT Friday 21st March from 6pm till late (Food available) in the back room of the Holyrood Tavern, 9a Holyrood Road, Edinburgh Every month, people who work in the sustainable development and environmental field meet up for a beer at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. This is happening in 28 cities across the planet. At Green Drinks events there tends to be a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. There's already a Glasgow and an Aberdeen Green Drinks, so come along to the first Edinburgh Green Drinks and you'll be made very welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there's always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network. These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. We all care about the same planet, so come along and meet like-minded people. It's a chance to make new contacts, have a drink, explore ideas and hear other people's views. There's no agenda, no chairman and no targets, but plenty of opportunity for catching up and meeting new folk.
